Laboratory Astrophysics Division (LAD)

Join LAD today!

The objective of the Laboratory Astrophysics Division is to advance our understanding of the Universe through the promotion of fundamental theoretical and experimental research into the underlying processes that drive the cosmos, in collaboration with astronomical observations and other complementary fields.

  • Members of the Laboratory Astrophysics Division (LAD) are part of a diverse and vibrant community of scientists who are a voice for laboratory astrophysics and its relevance for the many sub-fields represented in the AAS.
  • By joining LAD you become an active member of a growing network of experimentalists, theorists and observers who advocate for the critical importance of experimental astrophysics in informing our understanding of the universe.
  • We welcome all researchers and students from any field who are interested in learning more about LAD to explore our website, contact any of its executive officers with questions (see “About LAD, Leadership”), come meet us at our sessions at AAS meetings, and join our community!
